Basketball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica lost against Pembroke back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Attica Blue Devils had to suffer through a 54-21 loss at the hands of the Pembroke Dragons. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Pembroke got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Seneca Calderon out in front who went 6 of 13 to rack up 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Calderon has become a key player for Pembroke: the team is undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Hootman, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

Attica's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Pembroke, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Attica will challenge Alexander at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Attica is facing Alexander at the right time seeing as Alexander is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pembroke, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
