Baseball Recap: Fraser Beats Chippewa Valley for Their Third Straight Win

Fraser extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 12-11 in the process. They came out on top against the Chippewa Valley Big Reds by a score of 6-3. The game was the first time the Ramblers have beaten the Big Reds on their field since May 5, 2018.

Fraser let Ben Essian and Cooper Norbeck run wild. Essian went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Norbeck went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Fraser is undefeated when Essian posts two or more runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Connor Sikorski was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

As for Chippewa Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8-1. Big Reds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Fraser since on Saturday.

On Chippewa Valley's side, Payton Coldicott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Coldicott has hit this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fraser will welcome Lakeview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chippewa Valley, they will be playing at home against Dakota at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Big Reds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
