Basketball Recap: Isabella Flores' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rocky Mountain Prep SMART over Aurora West College Prep Academy

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was the 33-17 winner over Aurora West College Prep Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ocelotls fell 42-34 to the Spartans on Tuesday.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Flores, who posted seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Yvonne Ibarra, who put up eight points in addition to 11 boards and three steals.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART will head out to challenge Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against DSST: Green Valley Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
