Mesa waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions. While the Jackrabbits didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mesa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Ridge lost, don't look at Pete Selinski. Despite the final result, he had 17 digs and one assist. Selinski is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Mesa's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Mountain Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Mesa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Cienega on the 28th. As for Mountain Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Campo Verde on the 28th.
