Preview: Windham Whippets vs. Manchester Red Hawks

Windham has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Manchester Red Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Windham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Manchester likes a good challenge.

Even though Lyman Memorial scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Windham still came out on top. Windham put the hurt on Lyman Memorial with a sharp 79-55 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Windham has managed all season.

Malcolm Hunter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Green, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Manchester faced Conard in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Manchester fell just short of Conard by a score of 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Manchester has suffered yet this season.

Windham is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Windham was able to grind out a solid victory over Manchester in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 63-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windham since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
