Baseball Recap: Marysville Getchell Takes a Loss

Marysville Getchell had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it four. They came up short against the Kamiak Knights, falling 20-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marysville Getchell of the 17-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Cooper Agen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

As for Kamiak, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Kamiak's side, Andrew Fetty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Fetty has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Andrew Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Kamiak got a massive performance out of Malachi Noet, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Noet has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Colby Koga, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Marysville Getchell will square off against Marysville-Pilchuck at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kamiak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadowdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
