Baseball Recap: Somerset Tech Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Somerset Tech barely beat Timothy Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars put the hurt on Timothy Christian with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with Timothy Christian: they've now won six in a row.

Somerset Tech let Caden Winnicki and Nicholas Raspovich run wild. Winnicki went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Raspovich went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases and four runs. Winnicki has become a key player for Somerset Tech: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alexander Morales, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Somerset Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.

Somerset Tech's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.
