Recap: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Westlake Charter Explorers
The Buckingham Charter Knights were the 49-28 winner over the Westlake Charter Explorers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Buckingham Charter fell 55-45 to Westlake Charter on Thursday.
It was another big night for Xavier Ealy, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds for Westlake Charter. The match was Ealy's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quinones Fleeton, who scored ten points.
Buckingham Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westlake Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckingham Charter will challenge Cristo Rey at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cristo Rey is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Westlake Charter will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Leroy Greene Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Leroy Greene Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
