Basketball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for South Eugene

South Eugene hadn't done well against North Medford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The South Eugene Axe came out on top against the North Medford Black Tornado by a score of 54-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-45 back in January.

Several Black Tornado players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Curtis, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Curtis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tate Snyder, who went 5-for-10 en route to 10 points and three steals.

South Eugene's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. As for North Medford, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

When South Eugene and North Medford next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. South Eugene will take on Sheldon and their ten-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, North Medford will try to stop Grants Pass' four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
