Baseball Recap: Rock Falls Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Rock Falls was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the Lutheran Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-9 last Tuesday.

Owen Mandrell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Rock Falls' loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Lutheran, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Rock Falls will take on Genoa-Kingston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets are facing the Cogs at the right time seeing as the Cogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lutheran, they will face off against Rockford Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Royal Lions will have lost six straight heading into Monday's match.
