Chavez is 8-2 against Shafter since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will take on the Generals at 4:00 p.m. Shafter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chavez, who comes in off a win.
Chavez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on South with a sharp 14-1 win on Wednesday. The Titans not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2025 (when they won 14-0).

Emmanuel Segura made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Benji Perez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2025. Jayden Popoy also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Shafter fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chavez on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 4-3. The Generals haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Lukas Pena was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Gomez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Shafter now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Chavez, the victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-6-1.
Chavez's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Titans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Shafter, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chavez continue to outrun the ball?
Chavez came out on top in a nail-biter against Shafter when the teams last played on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
