Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Monadnock

Monadnock put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Stevens Cardinals. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Stevens' batters probably weren't too happy with Ari Drouin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Drouin.

At the plate, Shaylee Branon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cainen Avery, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Monadnock's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monadnock is set to take on their familiar foe Kearsarge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Stevens will challenge rival Mascoma at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
