Softball Game Preview: Lake Catholic Cougars vs. Magnificat Blue Streaks

Lake Catholic is 0-3 against Magnificat since April of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Streaks at 11:00 a.m.

Lake Catholic is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to Ravenna.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Magnificat made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hudson on Friday. The Blue Streaks came out on top against the Explorers by a score of 10-6.

Ella Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Wheeler, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Magnificat was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lake Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Magnificat, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-16.
