When Class of 2019 high school basketball star Ashton Hagans of Newton (Covington, Ga.) committed to Kentucky in early April, the buzz was strong that he would be fast-tracking his arrival.

The 6-foot-4 point guard made it official Friday, telling Gabriel Stovall of The Covington News he will be leaving for Lexington on Sunday.
Hagans averaged 20.1 points, 10.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game as a junior at Newton, leading the Rams to a 27-4 record and Class AAAAAAA semifinals.

While his ranking hasn't been adjusted yet to reflect his move to the Class of 2018, Hagans had previously been pegged as the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2019 class by 247Sports.
