Volleyball Recap: West Platte's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Platte can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Lafayette County Huskers on Thursday. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Catelyn Carlson paced West Platte's offense, picking up eight kills. Carlson got some help from Amber Rutherford and her 25 assists. Olivia Jeffers controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

With the defeat, West Platte broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-16-2. As for Lafayette County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-6-2.

West Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against East Buchanan on the 1st.
