Ponchatoula have been struggling to pick up a win, with their matchup against Fontainebleau last Friday making it five winless games in a row. Ponchatoula suffered a grim 34-58 defeat to Fontainebleau. Ponchatoula's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Tj Finley, who passed for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns. Finley has been a consistent playmaker for Ponchatoula as this was the 8th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Northshore have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a somewhat close 19-14 victory over Covington.
Northshore's win lifted them to 3-5 while Ponchatoula's defeat dropped them down to 2-6. In their win, Northshore relied heavily on senior Michael Benedict, who accumulated 126 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD. Ponchatoula will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
