Basketball Game Preview: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. Wink Wildcats

The Fort Hancock Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Wink Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Fort Hancock will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Iraan 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since December 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wink sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over McCamey on Friday.

Wink pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fort Hancock, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Fort Hancock took a serious blow against Wink in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wink's Ethan Cahill, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Now that Fort Hancock knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
