Soccer Recap: Brookland-Cayce Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Brookland-Cayce and Batesburg-Leesville's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Brookland-Cayce turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats' defense stepped up to hand the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers a 4-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Hailey Jiminez-Cortez as she scored three goals for her team.

The victory made it two in a row for Brookland-Cayce and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 1-4-1 record this season.

Brookland-Cayce will head out on the road to take on North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Brookland-Cayce will be up against North Augusta's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.2 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they will be playing at home against Mid-Carolina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
