Basketball Recap: Beavercreek Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Wayne

Beavercreek hadn't done well against Wayne recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Beavercreek Beavers snuck past the Wayne Warriors with a 59-55 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Beavers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Warriors are ranked 114th).

Wayne lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Thompson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay'Sean Price, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Beavercreek moved to 7-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Wayne, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Beavercreek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-55 loss against Fairmont on the 31st. Wayne has also already played their next game, a 59-38 defeat against Centerville on the 2nd.
