Softball Recap: Lumberton Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Lumberton was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 13-2 to the Scotland Fighting Scots. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fighting Scots from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Lumberton has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Scotland, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Looking ahead, Lumberton will challenge Fairmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scotland, they will face off against East Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Scots are on a nine-game streak of home wins, the Gators a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
