Softball Recap: East Central Hornets vs. Steele Knights
There's no place like home for East Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Steele Knights 13-3 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.
Jenise Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, East Central got a big performance out of Marissa Delgado, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Izzy Estrada was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
East Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steele only posted an OBP of .348.
