Baseball Recap: Joseph Ruiz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hanna over Edinburg

Hanna's last matchup with Edinburg could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Hanna Golden Eagles might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Edinburg Bobcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Golden Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hanna saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Ruiz, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Ruiz hit this season.

Hanna's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Edinburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Coming up, Hanna is taking a road trip to take on Edinburg North at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edinburg, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Roma at 6:00 p.m.
