Baseball Game Preview: Lourdes Eagles vs. St. Charles Fighting Saints

The Lourdes Eagles will venture away from home to take on the St. Charles Fighting Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Lourdes' offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cannon Falls on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Bombers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Lourdes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Streefland, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, St. Charles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Triton with a sharp 13-0 win.

St. Charles' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average this season. As for Lourdes, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lourdes took their victory against St. Charles in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
