Volleyball Recap: Antietam Falls Despite Big Games from Michael Pinkerton and Brayden Yelk

Antietam lost against Varsity Opponent back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mountaineers lost 3-0 to Varsity Opponent. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Antietam had strong showings from Brayden Yelk, who had five digs and two aces, and Michael Pinkerton, who had 18 kills, four digs, and one block. Yelk is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camrin Kauffman, who had nine kills and one block.

Antietam's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Antietam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Quakertown on the 5th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next matchup (against Suburban Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
