Baseball Recap: Northwest Guilford Takes a Loss

Northwest Guilford came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Southwest Guilford Cowboys by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Northwest Guilford saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Gentrup, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Northwest Guilford and nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for Southwest Guilford, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-9 record.

Coming up, Northwest Guilford will take on Ragsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Southwest Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
