McKinney Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Founders Classical Academy Eagles 56-25. The Mustangs pushed the score to 42-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.
McKinney Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Angel Rivera, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Cody Dow, who rushed for 27 yards and two scores.
McKinney Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chase Bruegel and Dusty Thibodeaux.
