Basketball Recap: NELA Christian Homeschool Takes a Loss

NELA Christian Homeschool was the 46-38 winner over John Paul the Great Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The NELA Christian Homeschool Flame took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians. The Flame have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Ezra Mouton, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five steals for John Paul the Great Academy. Mouton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Sonnier, who posted 12 points.

NELA Christian Homeschool's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for John Paul the Great Academy, they moved to 5-10 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NELA Christian Homeschool will take on Word of God Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Paul the Great Academy, they will face off against Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
