Balmorhea had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-34 W against the Marfa Shorthorns. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2025.

Balmorhea now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Marfa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Balmorhea is set to challenge their familiar foe Dell City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marfa will square off against rival Big Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
