Cibola has gone 9-1 against Albuquerque recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. Cibola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Cibola is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Volcano Vista, who was ranked 24th at the time (Cibola was ranked fifth). The Cougars fell 6-3 to the Hawks on Friday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Cibola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Gaw, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Albuquerque didn't have quite enough to beat Atrisco Heritage Academy on Friday and fell 4-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Albuquerque's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Cibola, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.

Cibola was able to grind out a solid win over Albuquerque in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-2. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
