Softball Recap: Robertsdale Wins Going Away Against Foley

Robertsdale barely beat Foley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Bears blew past the Lions 18-3 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Olivia Parker made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Parker was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Kahlen Morgan and Blakelynn Dunlavy did most of the damage at the plate: Morgan scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Dunlavy scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Dunlavy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelynn Sewell, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Robertsdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Robertsdale's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 14-12. As for Foley, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Robertsdale will welcome Daphne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foley will be paying especially close attention to the Golden Bears' match: after the Golden Bears faces off against Saraland, they'll take on Foley again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
