Basketball Recap: Mulberry Comes Up Short

Mulberry lost against Lake Region back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mulberry Panthers took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Region Thunder.

Lake Region found their leader in sophomore Erik Koshinski, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 21 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Koshinski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emondre Wilson, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Mulberry has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Lake Region, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mulberry has already played their next matchup (against Lake Placid), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Region has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Bridge to Independence.
