Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Lake View

Lake View had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 win over the North Grand Eagle Owls on Tuesday. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagle Owls, too.

Leading Lake View to victory were Isaiah Betancourt and Daniel Loza. Betancourt dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, while Loza went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Fregoso, who posted seven points along with five assists and five boards.

Lake View's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for North Grand, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Lake View will venture away from home to face off against Steinmetz College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Grand, they will challenge Chicago Mathematics & Science at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
