Basketball Game Preview: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats vs. Karnes City Badgers

Skidmore-Tynan hasn't had much luck against Karnes City recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Badgers at 12:15 p.m. Neither Skidmore-Tynan nor Karnes City posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Skidmore-Tynan is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Odem on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bobcats came up short against the Owls, falling 41-21. The Bobcats were down 35-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Skidmore-Tynan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keithan Wilson posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Karnes City came up short against Industrial on Monday and fell 41-29.

Skidmore-Tynan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Karnes City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Skidmore-Tynan came out on top in a nail-biter against Karnes City in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, sneaking past 43-41. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Badgers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
