Softball Recap: St. Anne Comes Up Short

St. Anne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Peotone Blue Devils, falling 8-0. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

St. Anne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

St. Anne's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Peotone, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anne will challenge Gardner-South Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Peotone, they will square off against Lisle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season.
