Volleyball Recap: Ivy Jean Vanegmond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain Valley over Crested Butte

Mountain Valley lost against Crested Butte back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23.

Mountain Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ivy Jean VanEgmond, who had 13 digs and 12 assists. With that strong performance, VanEgmond is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game.

Mountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Crested Butte, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Mountain Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Sierra Grande on the 27th. As for Crested Butte, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Monte Vista on the 23rd.
