Baseball Preview: Sherman Tide vs. Wahama White Falcons        
        
		
            The Sherman Tide are taking a road trip to  take on the Wahama White Falcons  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Sherman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9  runs per game  this season.
Sherman had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Elk Valley Christian on Tuesday. The Tide were the clear victors by  a  14-2 margin over the Eagles. While the Tide didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

 Brady Perdue and  Luke Tagliente made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing,  Perdue   struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Tagliente   tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Perdue  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, while  Tagliente  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances. Tagliente has become a key player for Sherman: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  Brayden Hamrick was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple. That  triple marked the first that  he  hit this season.  Colby Atkins was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Wahama scored the most  runs they've had  this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Ritchie County by a score of  13-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  on Tuesday (11), the White Falcons still had to take the loss.
 Sherman has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Wahama, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Sherman might still be hurting after the  9-0 loss they got from Wahama  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Can the Tide avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
