Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest lost against Marshfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hillcrest started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

Lillie Moore paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up 18 kills. Moore got some help from KeAshza Roy and her 27 assists.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16-2. As for Marshfield, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will take on Logan-Rogersville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshfield, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Plains at 7:00 p.m.
