Softball Game Preview: Toledo Indians vs. Ocosta Wildcats

Toledo is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Ocosta is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Indians will welcome the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Toledo came out on top against Toutle Lake on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Indians were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Ducks. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Ducks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Ocosta made easy work of Oakville on Thursday and carried off a 26-5 victory.

Ocosta got a massive performance out of Jolissa Schlegel, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Sophie Olive was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Ocosta's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Toledo, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-2.

Toledo took their win against Ocosta in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
