Lumberton hasn't had much luck against Jack Britt recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Lumberton Pirates will host the Jack Britt Buccaneers at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Jack Britt heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lumberton took over last week. Lumberton came out on top against Seventy-First by a score of 46-38 on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Andrea Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 14 boards. Her evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Giselle Leach, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jack Britt hadn't done well against South View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jack Britt walked away with a 50-43 victory over South View. The win was all the more spectacular given the Buccaneers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Tigers are ranked 52nd).
Jack Britt's win came from a few key players Lumberton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Desaya Ellis, who posted eight points in addition to 19 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Aaliyah Mcrae was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 20 points.
Jack Britt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.
Lumberton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points over those games. As for Jack Britt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-15 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Saturday's contest: Lumberton has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.7% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Jack Britt, though, as they've only made 21.8% of their three-pointers this season. Given Lumberton's sizable advantage in that area, Jack Britt will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lumberton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jack Britt when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. Will Lumberton repeat their success, or does Jack Britt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
