Basketball Recap: Harlingen Cardinals vs. Edinburg Bobcats

After flying high against St. Joseph Academy last Friday, Harlingen came back down to earth. The Harlingen Cardinals fell to the Edinburg Bobcats 38-32. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Edinburg found their leader in sophomore Yuri Perez, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and six assists. Perez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kiera Pool was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

With the loss, Harlingen broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-6. As for Edinburg, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
