Softball Game Preview: Trinity Tigers vs. Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans

For the second straight game, Trinity will face off against Coldspring-Oakhurst. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Coldspring-Oakhurst will come in with seven straight wins.

Trinity came up short against Coldspring-Oakhurst on Tuesday, falling 19-3.

For Coldspring-Oakhurst's part, Trinity Rosales made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Rosales has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Coldspring-Oakhurst got a massive performance out of Jasper Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Headley, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Coldspring-Oakhurst's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
