Baseball Recap: Mosinee Drops Season-High Score on Antigo

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mosinee). They never let the Antigo Red Robins get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Red Robins: they've now won eight in a row.

Zach Nechuta tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Mosinee is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Treve Stoffel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliot Yirkovsky, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Mosinee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mosinee's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Antigo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mosinee will face off against Wausau West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Antigo, they will square off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
