Recap: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. Freedom Patriots
The Lake Buena Vista Vipers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Freedom by a score of 68-58 on Monday. The win was just what Lake Buena Vista needed coming off of a 87-63 loss in their prior match.
Lake Buena Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnathan Porter, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 25 rebounds. Porter also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Bryan Mwangovya, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds.
Lake Buena Vista's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Freedom, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
Lake Buena Vista won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Mount Dora Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three matches. Freedom won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Horizon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
