Basketball Game Preview: Fort Frye Cadets vs. Warren Warriors

Fort Frye and Warren are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Fort Frye Cadets will host the Warren Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Frye is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

On Thursday, Fort Frye couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 59-32 blowout they got against New Lexington. The Cadets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Warren didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Williamstown on Friday, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 120th in Ohio, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 14th in West Virginia).

Warren is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Fort Frye, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Fort Frye strolled past Warren in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 51-32. Will Fort Frye repeat their success, or does Warren have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
