Basketball Recap: Carly Lapierre Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Chazy hadn't done well against Schroon Lake recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chazy Eagles came out on top against the Schroon Lake Wildcats by a score of 48-41. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in January, they had to take a 52-40 loss.

Chazy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carly LaPierre led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. LaPierre is becoming a predictor of Chazy's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 4-1 (and 5-7 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Howell, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Chazy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Schroon Lake, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Chazy and Keene Central will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Schroon Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
