Softball Recap: Hendersonville Comes Up Short

Hendersonville's last matchup with Polk County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Bearcats lost 15-4 to the Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 back in March.

Anna McFarling made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mary Shelton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hendersonville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Polk County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Hendersonville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against R-S Central on the 11th. As for Polk County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 defeat against Brevard on the 11th.
