Recap: Oxford Pirates vs. Leicester Wolverines
The Oxford Pirates were the 67-56 winner over the Leicester Wolverines when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oxford took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oxford has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Oxford saw an underclassman step up: Nolan Remington scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Remington scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Marqoupis, who scored seven points.
This is the second loss in a row for Oxford and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Leicester, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will take on the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leicester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
