Baseball Game Preview: Edon Bombers vs. Hilltop Cadets

The Edon Bombers will square off against the Hilltop Cadets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Edon's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Stryker with a sharp 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Hilltop got the win against North Baltimore on Saturday by a conclusive 15-2. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Cameron Shimp made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Shimp was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camryn Nichols, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Brennan Dempsey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Hilltop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Baltimore only posted an OBP of .318.

Edon's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Hilltop, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Edon beat Hilltop 9-4 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
