Basketball Recap: Prairie Comes Up Short

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-36, which was the final score in the Prairie Mustangs's tilt against the Kimball Longhorns on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 268th in Colorado, while the Longhorns are ranked 100th in Nebraska).

Prairie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennan Bringelson, who posted seven points. Lane Schock was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Kimball, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Prairie has already played their next game (against Peetz), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kimball didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-50 win against Bridgeport on the 20th.
