Soccer Recap: Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Louis Christian HomeSchool, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lions who were credited with the win. The Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Lions got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Wright City Wildcats's zero. Even though Gateway Legacy Christian Academy got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Auriani Ascanio was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Jenell Ackermann and Ascanio scored all three of Gateway Legacy Christian Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Gateway Legacy Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Wright City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wright City, they will welcome Owensville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
